International Production and Sales Company operating in 13 countries with 45 production sites across Europe with 24.500 employees

Challenges / Requirements

The challenge in this project was to align ways of working across the Supply Chain organisation (production & logistics) including aligning the Target Operating Model for decision support that reflected Group-wide business requirements with the following building blocks:

  • Supply Chain Steering Model and Financial Information Model
  • Decision Support Processes (incl. Management Reporting; Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting. Profitability & Cost Analysis and Business Partnering)
  • Global Organization & Capability Model (incl. Centralizing Support Functions)
  • Integrated BI & Analytic Architecture (incl. Driver Based Forecasting – Customer Demand and Supply Planning)

Project Summary

We developed a detailed 16 week plan of work, with a set of deliverables that we believe met the needs

  • Deliver a detailed project charter with accelerated mobilisation / alignment of the full programme team
  • As-Is Analysis and To-Be requirements gathered across all in-scope OpCos
  • Identification of value opportunities and the development of a high-level blueprint for your the operating model
  • High-level change / capability impact assessment and data gap assessment
  • Roadmap recommendation, business case and benefits management approach
  • Ongoing programme management and key stakeholder communications

We were also able to realise multiple quick wins in order to deliver significant benefits

  • We created a common business taxonomy and single source of the truth for management information across the Group, including a highly rationalised set of core management reports
  • Deliver a shareholder value focused performance management framework to provide transparency of true business performance in line with the changing operating model (including aligned KPIs, charging/allocation rules and management reporting structures that are fully aligned across OpCos)

Value Delivered

The project team helped to create the future vision. This mainly focused upon 3 key areas:

  • Allowing better decision making to be made based on quality information, insight and clear accountability for performance
  • Create more Capacity and Capability for effective Business Partnering
  • Imbed a culture of Continuous Improvement and create a platform for collaboration and knowledge sharing across the organisation
